Many are criminalized for having even small amounts of marijuana when it is often used for medical purposes. These individuals face heavy jail time, hefty fines, and these acts stay on their permanent record often making it difficult for individuals to find employment and even housing.
Remove marijuana from the federal Controlled Substances list and allow states the freedom to regulate marijuana as they choose, without federal interference. We must also decriminalize marijuana and free those incarcerated. Repay back fines paid by those incarcerated and arrested.
